Workoutzone is a personal workout tracker for iPhone and Apple Watch, made by Doin LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the Workoutzone apps, our server and this website collect, why, who else processes it, and how you can delete it. If anything here is unclear, write to support@workoutzone.net.
The short version: we store your account and your training log so it syncs and stays backed up. Apple Health data never leaves your devices for our server. No ads, no tracking, no selling of data — and you can delete your account in the app at any time.
What we collect and why
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Account — your email address (with Sign in with Apple this may be a private relay address) and the account identifier Google or Apple gives us. | To create your account and sign you in. We never see your password and we don’t store your name. |
| Training data — programs, baselines, goals, schedule, logged sets and ratings, notes, custom exercises, and run summaries (time, distance, splits, intervals). | To run the app, sync between your iPhone and Apple Watch, and keep a backup. |
| Reminder settings — whether reminder emails and notifications are on, the send time and time zone, and a record of each reminder email sent. | To send at most one reminder per training day, only when something is unfinished. |
| Devices — for a linked Apple Watch, its name and when it was linked and last seen. Sign-in sessions and watch credentials are stored only in hashed form. | To let your watch sync on its own and let you revoke it. |
| AI coach requests — when you ask for a custom program: the exercise name, how it’s measured, your baseline (and weight), training days per week and the notes you type. | To draft a progression. Leave out anything in the notes you don’t want shared. |
| Technical logs — IP address, time, requested path and result, for our server and this website. | To keep the service working and secure. Tokens and credentials are never logged. |
We don’t collect contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, precise location history, or payment information.
Apple Health (HealthKit)
If you turn it on, the app saves your runs and strength sessions to Apple Health on your iPhone, and runs recorded on Apple Watch are saved from the watch. During a run the watch uses heart rate and distance from HealthKit to show your workout. Health data is never sent to our server, is never used for advertising or marketing, is never sold, and is never shared with anyone. You control Health access in the Health app and in Workoutzone Settings → Apple Health.
Location
Location is used only while a run is recording, on your iPhone or watch, to measure distance and pace. If you save runs to Apple Health, the route is saved there, on your device. We do not store your routes on our server — only the run summary.
Who else processes data
We use a small number of service providers, only for the purpose described:
- Apple and Google verify your identity when you sign in.
- Resend delivers reminder emails, so it receives your email address and the email’s content (today’s workouts).
- OpenAI drafts custom programs from the AI coach request described above. Nothing else about you is sent. OpenAI acts as our service provider under its API terms, which don’t let it use this data to train its models.
- Hosting. Our server, database and this website run on infrastructure we rent and operate ourselves; the hosting provider stores the data but doesn’t use it.
We don’t sell, rent or trade personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising.
This website
workoutzone.net uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security.
Emails and notifications
Reminder emails and notifications are sent only if you turn them on in Settings → Daily reminders. Daily notifications are scheduled on your iPhone itself. Every email has an unsubscribe link that works without signing in.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while you have an account. In the app, Settings → Account → Delete account immediately deletes your programs, history, settings, reminder records and watch credentials from our server, and removes your email address and sign-in identifier from your account record (only an internal ID and the deletion date remain). You can also request deletion by email. Technical logs are kept only for a limited time, for security and troubleshooting. Workouts already in Apple Health stay on your devices; you can delete them in the Health app.
Your choices and rights
- Turn reminders, Apple Health and the watch link on or off in Settings at any time.
- Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion by emailing us from the address on your account. We respond within 30 days.
- Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have additional rights, including to object to or restrict processing and to complain to a data protection authority. We honor these requests for everyone.
Security
All traffic uses HTTPS. Every request is checked against your account, so one account can never read another’s data. Credentials are stored hashed, and on your devices in the Keychain.
Children
Workoutzone is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Future versions
If we release Workoutzone on other platforms (such as Android), this policy will apply to them too, and we’ll update it before any new kind of data is collected.
Changes
If this policy changes we’ll update this page and its effective date. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we’ll ask for your consent where required.
